What Is A Skin Peel?

A professional skin peel is a type of exfoliating treatment used to improve the appearance and health of one's skin.
It's often referred to as a chemical peel because it uses a variety of "chemicals" to remove dead skin cells, stimulate collagen production, and even out the complexion.
During the process, your skin therapist will apply one or more peel solutions to your face, leaving it on for a certain amount of time before removing.

The type of peel used can vary depending on each person's individual needs and goals.
For example, light peels may only use enzymes while medium peels may involve compounds like salicylic acid.
The deeper peels will penetrate deeper into the epidermis and can have longer lasting results but correct skin preparation is required to minimise risk of hypo / hypo pigment and skin sensitivity.

Skin Peel Benefits

Synergie Skin Peel Results

Skin peels offer many benefits, including reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing age spots or sun spots, treating acne scars, improving texture and tone of the skin, fading dark spots from hyper-pigmentation and more. Pre-treatment planning with an experienced dermal expert in order to determine which type of peel would be best for you.

Types Of Salon Skin Peels

Light chemical peels, also known lunchtime peels, use mild acids like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs). These are often used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.

Medium-depth and deep chemical peels penetrate deeper into the skin, removing multiple layers of dead cells from the surface. As a result, they are stronger than superficial peels and require a longer recovery period. Commonly used for acne scarring, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and sun damage.

Salon skin peels can provide numerous benefits for people looking to improve their complexion and overall skin health. Skin peels can stimulate collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin which helps with overall texture, tone, and hydration.

Skin Peels To Make Your Skin Glow

Skin peels are great for brightening dull complexions and boosting overall radiance. By removing layers of dead skin cells that tend to accumulate over time, this treatment helps to reveal brighter and more youthful-looking skin beneath it all. Plus, depending on what type you choose, it may contain ingredients such as vitamin C or hyaluronic acid that further enhance the complexion's brightness levels.

By using powerful exfoliating agents, the exfoliation process involved in this treatment helps to unclog pores and reduce inflammation caused by acne.
This can leave your complexion looking clearer and more even-toned. Additionally, regular sessions can help to prevent future breakouts from occurring as well as help existing blemishes heal faster.

Aftercare For A Salon Skin Peel

Aftercare is just as important as the procedure itself. Getting the most out of your treatment requires proper care and maintenance in order to achieve optimal results. It's essential to follow the instructions provided by your Hush Clinic skin specialist.
We use Synergie products and they are formulated to continue working at home to boost and prolong the results after your treatment at Hush Clinical.

Immediately after a skin peel, the treated area may feel a little sensitive and tight - this is completely normal. To reduce discomfort and help protect the new, delicate skin, it's essential to apply the recommended moisturiser or balm regularly throughout the day.
Sunscreen should also be used liberally on any exposed areas to protect against further damage from UV rays.
Additionally, avoid picking at any flaking skin, as this could lead to irritation or infection.

Depending on the type of peel performed, you may experience some redness or mild swelling that can last up to a few days post-treatment.
If you're concerned about any side effects or have questions about what products are best for aftercare, don't hesitate to reach out to our team for advice and guidance.

It's essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle even after a salon skin peel in order to get long-term benefits from the treatment. Drinking plenty of water and eating good fat foods, taking collagen supplements can all help keep your skin hydrated and promote healing.

IMPORTANT - do not perform waxing or threading a week either side of a peel! Plus AVOID sun - no sunny holidays the week before or after. ACUTAL peeling after a peel is not a sign its working better. Deep peels require pre planning and preperation for outstanding results - or it can actually cause damage to your skin.
