Glowing Skin: The Power of Skin Peels

The Synergie Professional Peel treatments are designed to reduce the appearance of irregularities on the skin’s surface and reveal a smoother, revitalised texture by regenerating and resurfacing the skin.

These treatments remove the top layers of the skin, help to stimulate collagen remodelling, reduce tonal discolouration, improve skin texture and hydration, reduce congestion and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

This transformative skincare treatment has proven its worth in tackling various skin issues, including sun damage, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and dullness.

Understanding Chemical Peels

Curated to revitalise epidermal texture, Synergie Skin offers a range of powerful resurfacing chemical peels from a retinol-enzyme formulation, varying salicylic and lactic acid solutions, our exclusive Synergie peel as well as a modified Jessner peel for visible, lasting results.

Various strengths and types of chemical peels are available, and a professional skin consultation is necessary to ensure the appropriate peel treatment is selected for your specific skin concerns.

There is a lot more to peels than the percentage! Ph plays an important role as does formulation! Using a peel that is to strong for your skin can result in serious adverse effects. Impared Skin barrier, Dermatitits, Burns and pigmentation.

The Science Behind It: Hydroxy Acids

At the core of many chemical peels are hydroxy acids, including salicylic acid and Lactic acid. These acids function by disrupting the connections between dead skin cells, facilitating their sloughing off.

Salicylic acid is particularly effective for acne-prone skin, as it can penetrate the pores and help unclog them, reducing the occurrence of breakouts. On the other hand, Lactic acid, derived from Milk, is renowned for its ability to enhance skin texture, hydration and promote skin rejuvenation.

Tailoring to Different Skin Types

One of the remarkable features of chemical peels is their adaptability to different skin types. Whether you have oily, dry, sensitive, or combination skin, there's a peel suitable for your needs.

Skin consultations play a crucial role in determining the most suitable type of peel for an individual. For instance, individuals who have never used an acid or active skincare will likely need to use some products for the 2 weeks prior to prep their skin for acids. This may be a little inconvenient but its the safest way to introduce peels and accelerate results, without any poor side effects

Addressing a Multitude of Skin Concerns

The versatility of chemical peels extends beyond catering to different skin types—it also encompasses a wide array of skin concerns. For those grappling with sun-damaged skin, chemical peels can be a game-changer.

Exposure to sunlight can lead to early aging, causing fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots. Chemical peels effectively target these issues by eliminating damaged or impaired skin cells and promoting the growth of fresh, healthier skin cells.

Moreover, if you're battling uneven skin tone, chemical peels can help even out pigmentation irregularities. Regular peel sessions can diminish hyperpigmentation, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused by acne scars. With the exfoliation of the outer skin layer, the new skin that emerges tends to have a more uniform appearance. IF we combine that with excellent home care pigmenation can be

Types of Peels

Chemical peels are not a one-size-fits-all solution; they come in various types to cater to specific needs. Here are a few common types:

  1. Superficial Peel: This gentle peel targets the outermost layer of skin, making it ideal for mild concerns such as dull skin and fine lines.
  2. Medium Peel: Deeper than a superficial peel, this type is effective against moderate skin imperfections like uneven skin tone and acne scars.
  3. Deep Peel: Reserved for more stubborn issues, deep peels penetrate several layers of skin to tackle deep wrinkles, severe sun damage, and significant skin texture irregularities.

The Power of Professional Expertise

While there are at-home peel kits available, it's recommended to undergo chemical peels under the guidance of a skincare professional. Their expertise ensures that the peel's concentration and application are appropriate for your skin's needs.

Skin consultations provide the opportunity to discuss your skin concerns and goals, allowing the skincare expert to tailor a treatment plan that delivers optimal results.

A Glimpse into Popular Peels

Several popular peel treatments have gained recognition for their efficacy and results:

  1. Advanced Anti Ageing Medi Facial: This specialised facial treatment combines multiple techniques, including chemical peels, to focus on signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of elasticity.
  2. Express Peel: Perfect for individuals with busy schedules, this quick treatment delivers rapid exfoliation, leaving the skin rejuvenated and radiant.
  3. Synergie Purifying Medifacial: Ideal for acne-prone skin and even Rosacea, , this medifacial combines the benefits of peels with other techniques to address breakouts and promote clearer skin.

The Importance of Aftercare

Post-peel care is essential to ensure the best possible results. After a chemical peel, your skin might exhibit increased sensitivity to the sun, so using a broad-spectrum sunscreen is crucial. It's also advised to avoid harsh skincare products for a few days and follow a gentle skincare routine to support the healing process.

Why do Skin Consultations Matter?

Skin consultations play an integral role in determining the most suitable type of peel and creating a personalised treatment plan. Whether you opt for a superficial peel to refresh your complexion or a deeper peel to target more stubborn imperfections, the guidance of skincare professionals ensures that you achieve the desired results while maintaining skin health and integrity.

A Personalised Skin Care Routine

The power of skin peels lies in their ability to rejuvenate the skin by shedding its dull and damaged outer layer. Through the application of carefully selected chemical solutions, various skin concerns can be effectively addressed. The key to successful peel treatments is a tailored approach, considering individual skin types, concerns, and goals.

As the pursuit of glowing skin continues to evolve, chemical peels stand out as a potent tool in the arsenal of advanced skincare. With their ability to promote skin rejuvenation, address a wide range of concerns, and cater to various skin types, chemical peels have rightfully earned their place in the realm of modern skincare practices.

So, if you're looking to unlock your skin's radiant potential, consider the transformative power of skin peels and embark on a journey towards healthier, more luminous skin.

Most Sensitive Skin Isn't Actually Sensitive The Skin Barrier Truth Most People Never Hear By Jess, Owner of HUSH Clinical | 30 Years of Skin Experience Every week I meet people who tell me they have sensitive skin. Their skin is red. It stings. It feels tight. Products suddenly irritate them. Nothing seems to work anymore. And after more than 30 years treating skin, I've noticed something interesting. Around 90% of these clients don't actually have what I would consider true sensitive skin. What they have is a damaged skin barrier. What Is The Skin Barrier? Your skin barrier is your body's natural protective shield. Think of it as the brick wall that keeps moisture in and irritants out. When your skin barrier is healthy, your skin feels: Comfortable Balanced Hydrated Calm Resilient When the barrier becomes damaged, everything changes. Suddenly your skin becomes: Red Reactive Tight Dry Itchy Easily irritated Most people assume they have sensitive skin. In reality, their skin is simply crying out for help. How Do People Damage Their Skin Barrier? The biggest causes I see include: Over-Cleansing Many people believe that squeaky-clean skin equals healthy skin. It doesn't. If your skin feels tight after cleansing, you've likely removed too much of your skin's natural protection. Too Many Active Ingredients Retinol. Vitamin C. Acids. Peels. Exfoliants. These ingredients can be fantastic when used correctly. But when clients start layering multiple active products without guidance, the skin often becomes overwhelmed. Following Social Media Trends TikTok and Instagram have convinced many people that more products equal better results. The truth? Most people need fewer products, not more. Over-Exfoliation One of the most common mistakes I see. Exfoliation can improve skin texture and brightness, but too much exfoliation strips the barrier and leaves the skin vulnerable. The Signs Of A Damaged Skin Barrier You may have barrier damage if: Products suddenly sting Your skin feels tight after cleansing You experience unexplained redness Your skin feels dry but also breaks out Moisturisers don't seem to work anymore Your skin reacts to products you've used for years These symptoms are often mistaken for sensitivity. What I Recommend Instead The first thing I do is simplify. We stop chasing the next miracle product. We focus on restoring the skin. Step 1: Use A Gentle Cleanser One of my favourites is Synergie UltraCleanse . It removes makeup, sunscreen and daily buildup without leaving the skin feeling stripped or tight. Step 2: Reduce Active Ingredients Sometimes less really is more. Giving the skin a chance to recover can make a dramatic difference. Step 3: Focus On Barrier Repair Some of my favourite products for compromised skin include: Dr Spiller Sanvita Cream Eco by Sonya Glory Oil Eco by Sonya Super Fruit Hydrator Synergie DermaCalm These products help support hydration, comfort and skin barrier recovery. Step 4: Be Patient The skin barrier doesn't repair overnight. Consistency is often more important than intensity. My Biggest Skincare Tip After treating thousands of skins over the years, one thing has become very clear. Most people don't need stronger skincare. They need healthier skin. When the skin barrier is functioning properly, many common concerns improve naturally. Less redness. Less irritation. Better hydration. Healthier-looking skin. Not Sure If Your Skin Is Sensitive Or Barrier Damaged? That's where professional advice makes all the difference. At HUSH Clinical, we offer complimentary skin consultations to help identify what's really happening with your skin and create a plan that's tailored to you. Because the right skincare doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's simply about giving your skin what it needs most.
